How Your Donation Changes Children’s Lives in Armenia
Our Role in Supporting Child’s Mental Health
The absence of family can lead to many mental problems such as fear and lack of confidence. As John Bowlby explains that “a human child who is confident that a parent will be accessible and helpful when called upon will be less prone to respond with fear to a potentially alarming situation than will one who for any reason does not have that confidence” (Attachment Theory, Separation Anxiety, and Mourning 1975, p.19). According to Bowlby, kids and teenagers who grow up in a secure environment where they receive a lot of encouragement and support from their parents and are given regular and gentle discipline are more likely to develop healthy independence as well as having the capacity to work effectively with others and to ask for help when they need it (Attachment Theory, Separation Anxiety, and Mourning 1975, p.20).
Since we, SOS Armenian’s Children Villages work for children who lost their parents, and we believe that children who lack calm, healthy family atmosphere often suffer from anxiety, low self-esteem, and trouble establishing relationships later in their lives. This reality can be changed with your donation. SOS Children's Villages provides this important feeling of connection through long-term care and safe homes which is made possible by our SOS friends' contributions. This is one of SOS Children's Villages Armenia where we do our best so that our SOS children regain their trust and a sense of security.
Your monthly contribution can be a step towards restoring the psychological foundation that all people need to be successful, healthy, and effective members of society.
The door to our SOSfamILY is always open to loving, caring, and generous people like you.
